Youth Academy The Urdang Youth Academy
is open to
all students aged 8-18 with a passion for performance!
The
Youth Academy runs on one Sunday a month during term time. The day
consists of a ballet and a jazz class and a musical theatre session.
Classes are taken by past and present West End performers and Urdang
Faculty staff, so that students are learning from those at the heart of
professional dance and musical theatre.
There
are intensive musical theatre workshops taken from time to time by West
End choreographers, directors, musical directors and other specialists
in their field. For the students, these sessions are always a
highlight of their training. Last year, students worked with the
resident director of Les Misérables and the associate choreographer of
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, amongst many others!
The
year ends with the Youth Academy End of Year Demonstration. This is a
fantastic opportunity for friends and family to see what has been
achieved and is always a wonderful enjoyable experience for all
involved.
The
cost of 12 sessions over the course of the academic year is £420. A
£30 enrolment fee is required for new students. There is an option to
attend one Sunday as a trial at the cost of £25.
