13th Nov 2015 | Posted by Caroline Levine
Urdang is celebrating again after receiving ‘Outstanding Grade 1’ in the latest Ofsted report. The assessment followed a recent two day inspection of the Central London Performing Arts Academy in October 2015. Urdang were graded with straight 1’s throughout all aspects of its’ training. This is the highest evaluation possible.
Ofsted summed up Urdang’s cutting edge performing arts training with:

The results give indisputable testament to the success of the college’s ongoing strategy. Managing Director Solange Urdang commented on the announcement:
“We are very proud that Ofsted have recognised our professional vocational training with the highest credits achievable. The results of the report speak for themselves and represent a clear endorsement of Urdang’s ability to offer the very best learning experience possible.” She added: “It is a very fitting tribute to both the ongoing dedication of our highly experienced faculty and the daily commitment of our talented students. I hope the outcome of this report will inspire our graduates to continue to achieve even more success in years to come.”

“All full-time teachers have substantial experience of working as professionals in performing arts. In addition, most part-time teachers continue to work as practitioners and performers. Teachers are well trained and highly qualified.”
“The quality of studio spaces and resources around the academy is very high. The rich character of the old town hall building, and its location in the heart of Islington also adds significantly to the character and ethos of the academy and helps maintain its very close links with London’s West End and theatreland.”
“Students benefit from excellent professional employment advice. Through a range of activities, they gain the knowledge and skills they require to engage successfully with agents, casting directors and a wide range of industry professionals. Students also obtain valuable practical understanding of how to manage their contracts and finances as professionals.”
