Urdang awarded Ofsted Outstanding Grade1

Urdang awarded Ofsted Outstanding Grade1 2015 with straight 1’s throughout all aspects of its’ trainingUrdang is celebrating again after receiving ‘Outstanding Grade 1’ in the latest Ofsted report. The assessment followed a recent two day inspection of the Central London Performing Arts Academy in October 2015. Urdang were graded with straight 1’s throughout all aspects of its’ training. This is the highest evaluation possible.

Ofsted summed up Urdang’s cutting edge performing arts training with:

“Outstanding all-round education and training in dance and musical theatre, resulting in students who successfully achieve their qualifications and progress into high quality jobs in the performing arts industry.”

The results give indisputable testament to the success of the college’s ongoing strategy. Managing Director Solange Urdang commented on the announcement:

“We are very proud that Ofsted have recognised our professional vocational training with the highest credits achievable. The results of the report speak for themselves and represent a clear endorsement of Urdang’s ability to offer the very best learning experience possible.” She added: “It is a very fitting tribute to both the ongoing dedication of our highly experienced faculty and the daily commitment of our talented students. I hope the outcome of this report will inspire our graduates to continue to achieve even more success in years to come.”

Win Urdang Youth Academy Scholarship for a Year!

Win Urdang Youth AcademyPerfect your technique and have fun for a whole academic year. Urdang’s Youth Academy develops confidence and skills whilst having fun and meeting like-minded students.

The Urdang Youth Academy is open to all students aged 10-21 with a passion for training and performance! Classes are taken by the Urdang faculty and there are also occasional specialised workshops taken by West End Directors, Choreographers, Musical Directors and other specialists in their field; so that students are learning from those at the heart of professional dance and musical theatre.

The Academy starts on 6th September 2015 and runs one Sunday a month during term time until June 2015 (date to be confirmed). Each day consists of a ballet class, a jazz class and a musical theatre session. The year ends with the Youth Academy End of Year Demonstration. This is a fantastic opportunity for friends and family to see what has been achieved and is always a fantastically enjoyable experience for all involved.

Help raise £3,000 to The Aaron Morgan Bursary Fund at Urdang

We’re raising money to The Aaron Morgan Bursary Fund at Urdang because some of our students often need maintenance help.

A huge thank you for all of your donations so far!

The Golden Gala programme advertising raised a total of £2,800 with special thanks going to Thornsett, Bloch Dance Europe, The Lion King, Dancing Times – Britain’s Leading Dance Monthly, Futurestech Branding and Marketing copies of the programme are on their way to you all.

The Golden Gala graduates tickets raised a total of £320

A massive thank you to MAC Cosmetics for the make-up donation and Dincwear for providing dance wear for our commercial dancers in the opening number of our Golden Gala at the Hackney Empire.

All monies raised will go towards the Aaron Morgan Bursary Fund. Many of our students will experience financial hardship at some point during their training. If you would like to pledge your support to the cause and contribute please follow the link below.

The fund was established in remembrance of Aaron Morgan who studied at Urdang before starring in the West End production of the Lion King but sadly died at the age of 27. Aaron’s memory lives on through supporting the talented with this bursary.

£4,600 was raised in 2014 at a special event held at the Lyceum theatre. The Golden Kite Concert was a fantastic evening of song, dance and spoken word Performed by the cast of the Lion King with Urdang students, graduates, crew from the Lyceum and special guests. Programme gifts and sponsorship of the Golden Gala performances will also go towards the Aaron Morgan fund. Your donations will be welcomed after each performance with all funds raised going to students in need of financial assistance during their study at Urdang.
