Term 1 aims to
prepare the student for college auditions. Students are given training that
will support and improve the technique they already have and introduce new
techniques that are required in vocational training.
Term 2 aims to
improve the skills learnt and keep the student’s at their maximum level during
the audition period. Students are given extra support prior to each audition.
Individual singing sessions are provided whilst going through the audition
period.
Term 3 focuses
on performance skills and maintaining the technical skills attained over the
course.
Performance skills are emphasised in all subjects throughout
the course. At the end of Term 3 the course will conclude with an in-house
display of work covering the main subjects.
Appraisal: Students are continually appraised during the
classes with regular feedback given. At the end of Term1 and Term 2 the
students receive formal feedback and targets in all main subjects. As part of
the Audition Technique training the students attend mock auditions at the end
of Term 1 followed by formal feedback which is designed to assist the student
for their actual college auditions. At the completion of the course the student
receives a written appraisal of their work over the whole course along with a
certificate of attendance.
All Foundation students are given the opportunity to
audition for Urdang and
assistance with applying for other colleges of their choice.
We also give advice on appropriate courses and colleges throughout the UK.
